Dear Lown Family Members:

 

Please accept these pictures into the Lown family history.  They are pictures of machinery that is in place at the Department of Energy Savannah River Plant in Aiken, SC. 

 

What makes this so interesting is that Joseph Audrey Lown worked there from the plant's inception in early 1950s until his retirement in 1992.  In the early 1980s, his sons, Kevin and Karl Lown started their employment at SRP and continue to work there now.  

 

Today activities at the plant have come full circle is undergoing decommision and demolition under Kevin and Karl's watch.  Although the machinery pictured here is no longer being used, it is still in good condition, and we can see there was another Lown "family" that contributed to our history at the Savannah River Plant!
